Windows 2000To get setup in 2000, you'll need to use our favorite Network Connection Wizard (it was formally know as the Internet Connection Wizard). To get that started click Start -> Run -> type in inetwiz.exe -> click OK. This will bring up our first window:
Click Next ->
Choose Dial-up to the Internet. Click Next ->

You do not need to enter the area code. Enter the telephone number to dial ACMENET. Make sure to un-check Use area code and dialing rules. Press Next -> Step 2
Enter the User name, and Password for the account. Both of these need to be in lowercase letters Press Next -> Step 3
This is the title of the Internet Connection. Usually called ACMENET, it can however be named anything you wish. Press Next ->
If you need to set up an e-mail account, this is the place to start. Choose Next to continue.
If you have an existing e-mail account, this screen will appear. Choose Create a new Internet mail account. Press Next ->
Here you can enter your name, capitalization does not matter. Press Next ->
Enter your e-mail address here. It should be in lowercase letters.
Here you enter the mail servers. The incoming mail server is pop.acmenet.net. The outgoing mail server is mail.acmenet.net
In the account name box, enter your username In the password box, enter your password
Click Finish and you're all done. |
