Mac OS X Internet Setup
Setup the new MAC OS pronounced TEN.
Dialer | Email
Setting up the dialer
Click on the Apple menu and select System Preferences and click
on Network button.
On the Network window,

Location : Automatic
Configure: Internal Modem
Under TCP/IP, where it says Configure, select Using PPP.
Domain Name Servers:
204.97.128.2
208.20.65.97
Search Domains
acmenet.net
Click on the PPP tab, put the following information.

Service Provider, acmenet.net.
Telephone Number: In this case it is our Albany number, 6948000. You
will need to put in the local number to you.
Account Name: username@acmenet.net (@acmenet.net may not be needed)
Password: Your Password
To see more details about connection click on PPP Options.
When the PPP Options box opens, You should uncheck Prompt to stay
connected if idle, and Disconnect if idle. You can then click OK, 
On the Proxies tab, leave all checks blank. Now Click the Modem
tab.

6. On Modem tab,

Sound : You will hear the modem dial
Dialing: It will allow you to choose between tone and pulse dialing. You should
leave Wait for dial tone before dialing checked.
To connect to the Internet, Open MacHD (your icon may be different),
then double click on Applications

Double click on Internet Connect

Click Connect button to dial to the Internet.

Setting up Email
Double-click the Mail icon.

From the Mail menu, choose Preferences.

Click the arrow box on the Check accounts for new mail pop-up list and
choose Manually.

Click the Create Account button.

Click the arrow box on the Account Type pop-up list and choose POP
Account.
In the Description field, your email address.
In the Email Address field, type your email address (username@acmenet.net).
In the Full Name field, type your name.
In the Host name field, type pop.acmenet.net
In the User name field, type your username.
In the Password field, type your password.
In the SMTP Host field, type mail.acmenet.net
Click on the Account Options tab.

Check the box next to Delete messages on server after downloading.
Click the OK button.
The Mail application is now configured to check your ACMENET email account.
