Windows 95 SetupDO NOT proceed with this method of setup unless they have the Windows95 CD-ROM or floppies as it may possibly do damage to the registry. ![]() Make sure that all programs are closed. If they are working on something currently, have them save any work before continuing (rebooting the system is part of the setup). Double click on the 'My Computer' icon in the upper left hand corner of the screen . Then, double click on the 'Control Panel' icon. Double click on the 'Network' icon. They will get a screen that looks like this: ![]() If they already have these components installed that are shown in the picture, you can skip to here. If not, continue with the installation by clicking on the 'Add' button. That will bring you to this screen: ![]() Click on 'Client' and click 'Add'. That will bring you to a list of manufacturers and products. Scroll down the left hand side until you get to 'Microsoft'. Then, from the right hand side, select 'Client for Microsoft Networks'. ![]() Then, click on 'Add' again. Select 'Adapter' and select 'Add'. From the list, select 'Microsoft' for manufacturers. Select 'Dial-Up Adapter' for the Network Adapter type and click on 'OK'. ![]() Then, select 'Add' again. From the list, select 'Protocol' and select 'Add'. From the list of manufacturers, scroll down until you get to 'Microsoft'. Then, on the right hand side select 'TCP/IP'. and click on 'OK'. The user will then be prompted to reboot their system.
