Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 for Windows 95/98
To reach the Option Settings for I.E., all you have to do is, right click on your
'Internet Explorer' icon, and then select
'Properties'
Or, you could open I.E., and then click on 'View' and select
'Internet Options'
Here is the General Tab, you can change your Home Page here. Just switch the
'Address' field, to whatever URL (Universal Resource
Locator AKA Web Site Address) you want it to be. Then the next time you
click on 'Home' you will go to that page. You can also change how I.E. handles Temporary files
and the History file of your browser.
On the Security Tab, you can adjust the sensitivity of Internet Explorer to warn you when you
enter an area that might be at high risk form hacking, or virus.
This area is fairly self explanatory, just enter a web site, and
make your own
judgment call
as to whether it is safe or not. Then you need to add the site to the appropriate
zone, and your done.
On the Content Tab you can block subjects, language, and whole portions of the Internet here.
You can password protect these settings, so your children cannot get into those areas, and the
settings of I.E. in an attempt to change the content settings.
