Junk Email Settings

  • You can adjust your settings at any time to better suit your personal preferences.

  • At the top of your Message Center, click "Junk Email Settings". The link will display a green or red button to show whether the service is active or inactive.

  • On/Off
Click the "ON" image to activate the spam filters. Your messages are not filtered until the ON button is activated.

  • Spam Filters
The spam filters enable you to select the sensitivity of different categories of offensive email. Select your level of tolerance for each category. We recommend you monitor your Message Center frequently after filters are set in order to see what is quarantined and make any adjustments.

  • Sender Lists
Block or approve specific senders ("user@company.com") or domains ("company.com") by entering addresses manually. It is recommended that you add family, friends, and associates to the Approved Sender list so messages from these people will automatically bypass the filters. PLEASE NOTE: most professional spammers continually change their address to avoid such tactics. The heuristic spam filters are effective enough to identify 95% of spam without using the Blocked Sender list.

  • MONITOR YOUR MESSAGE CENTER
Initially, we suggest you monitor your Message Center often. The junk email filters "remember and learn" from your interaction, and become more accurate with time. You can approve or block senders and adjust the filter tolerances to make the service more effective.

  • NOTIFICATIONS OF QUARANTINED EMAIL
You will receive a periodic notice of all junk mail held in your Message Center. You can visit your Message Center to review them, or take no action. Quarantined messages will be automatically deleted on a periodic basis as determined by your email provider.
